About us

DREAM, Inc. was conceived in 2006 when its chairman, Mr. Carl E. Balita decided to give back to the people all the blessings he has received by establishing a company with a corporate social  responsibility (CSR)
.
Guided with his experience in entrepreneurship, he created a team that would address the need to change the mindset of micro-entrepreneurs from enterprise survival to enterprise growth and sustainability.

After a series of meetings and brainstorming, the same team behind the conduct of two unique and socially-relevant programs, Balik Pinas’ Entrepinoy Program – an entrepreneurship program for OFWs in Hongkong and their families in the Philippines to facilitate their return to the country and break the cycle of employment mindset and Coopreneurship Competency Training Program – designed to institutionalize entrepreneurial services among cooperatives, identified two primary factors that hinder entrepreneurial success:  lack of resources; specifically, capital and enterprise management  ability.   Failed businesses almost always have the same scenario:  the person has capital but no knowledge on how to run the business or the person has business sense but no capital to start with.

The year 2007 saw the birth of DREAM, Inc., with a vision to develop resources for entrepreneurial advancement and mobilization.  To further help micro-entrepreneurs grow their businesses, DREAM, Inc.  came up with an entre-finance program the main thrust of which is not to earn interest but to empower entrepreneurs and encourage them to invest in their personal and professional growth through entrepreneurial management programs thereby ensuring the growth of their enterprises.

Thus, in November 2007, the first batch of micro-borrowers were presented to the public via the radio program, Radyo Negosyo of DZMM which is anchored by no less than DREAM, Inc.’s chairman, Carl E. Balita.
